For this project, I created a Zine with a theme revolving around washing machines. I thought it would be interesting to have my zine bring joy and silliness to a mundane task like doing your laundry. Doing your laundry is something that (hopefully) everyone can relate to, and by introducing puns that align with the activity hopefully make people laugh and bring a smile to their face. My goal was to have this zine be something that could be a “coffee table book”, that anyone could read and relate to for a quick minute of joy in their day. With this project, I wanted to communicate that even through the action of completing your laundry is boring and necessary, it is a task that we all complete and can relate to in many ways so why not make it fun and poke fun at things that people would only understand because they do their laundry. In completing this Zine, I ran into some difficulty with photoshop and illustrator when it came to editing and remembering how to complete specific designs and/or edits. I resulted in going back to some of the beginning lecture videos to relearn specific tasks and occasionally asking Google. Overall, I learned a lot during this project. I have always loved editing photos, so to take it one step further and create a Zine through photoshop and illustrator was very fun for me and I am very happy with the end presentation of my Zine once it was printed out and all stapled together.
